I met Jan Crittenden at NAB today! AWESOME lady!

guess they just didn't sell enough cameras. I would love to know how many they did sell though.
It's funny, I had a markII but as soon as I heard about this camera, I jumped on it. I love it.
I never got used to the backwards workflow on the 5d. I really thought people would jump on it too.
Oh well, even if they discontinue it, I am going to shoot with it for as long as I can.

There was a thread a little while ago (I forget where or I would link) about there being a corporate personel realignment or something and she was shifted to another role within the company, so she was only rarely able to post now.

I chose to move into a Sales position, it was not a corporate realignment that moved me over. I have to say I am rather enjoying the new position andam finding it rewarding. I am the partner Sales manager for the State of New York which means that I am working with the resellers in that area to bring up their awareness of and knowledge of our products.

Best,

Jan

If people that bought a new one recently would report their serial number, you could get an idea.

Actually that would not be true. The serial number gives you the Month and year it was manufactured and they start the numerical sequence over every month. Each county has its own middle numbers so you end up with about 8 different areas of the world with numbers that start for example A4XXX0125P, PJ, EJ etc. So the numbering of any individual country will not help. Won't even help with in a singular country because those numbers start at 0001 each month.

Best,

Jan

Nuts. But of course, such a simple serial number would reveal too much about sales.

As usual, Jan is here to keep us well informed. Thanks Jan.

Kind of a bummer for AF100, looks like this is it. No AF200.
Panasonic lead the way with 24p right? and now it's bowing out?
Well, all hail the 4K panasonic camcorder!

I wonder what that image might look like.
It doesn't look like it has interchangeable lens capability, or does it?
Man 1K is fast becoming SD!

From the sounds of how much people were bugging them about an AF200 at NAB, here's to hoping they'll rethink their plans and produce one.
