Long story short I was trying to use Mr. Green's suggestion of turning off the EVF color and using FA but accidentally turned it to B/W mode. The AF has so many features I am still finding new ones. This, however, came at a bad time, as I was not intending to shoot in black and white. I can make it work, luckily. It was a wedding so an artistic edge is welcome. But now I am wondering if there is a way to turn the LCDs color off. Also, I don't suppose there is any way to switch this footage back to color without some intensive post?

It sounds to me that you have recorded in black and white and that makes it unable to bring back colour. Turning lcd to b/w dont effect files recorded on sd card

See page 60 of volume 2 of the Operating Instructions.
In the Display Setup menu, under LCD Set, choose Color, and adjust it down so it looks B+W.
In the Display Setup menu, under EVF Color, set it to Off.
I think it works best to leave the LCD color normal, and the EVF in B+W, then press User1 button to get Focus-In-Red focus assist.
