I love my hvx

I just received my hvx on Wednesday from Armatos. I love this thing, and as soon as i figure out everything I am sure i am going to love it more.
I shot some epk for a film that I am working on, Trail of the Dead. A low budget indie western/horror. As soon as I can, I will try and post some pics.

Does it handle okay? Cause the camera looks "blocky" and heavy (I've only seen pictures of course).

Do you guys feel it balances okay hand held and is easy to operate?

Love doesn't truly describe it.... It's like being risen from the dead... and coming back with a better deal in life....

It makes you excited to just shoot.. and not even to worry about getting paid.. It's fun to shoot.. I just wonder when I'll shoot with my SD camera again... Possibly twice a year?

It also has so much more going on than the JVC... .and yes I now I have 100 hours of JVC experience.. which even more affirms why this camera is the best 10K and under camera on the planet.... I want to mess around with the Canon next to see what's up with that... but I don't know a single person who bought that hunk..

HVX.... is the coolest piece of electronics I have EVER bought...

:crybaby: Ive gotta stop browsing the HVX forums, because everytime I hear about how great the HVX is, and how amazing it shoots, I nearly drive myself mad with depression!

Andrew... what's stopping ya? Don't let anything stop you from getting on the revolution.... You can do it too.. I know several people who bought the camera on faith that the gigs will come and they have. My camera is over half paid off in 2 months and will be continuing to help me establish my rep as a HD production stop throughout the year...

Waiting and being on the fence is time lost making the benjamins... Get it as soon as you can, get credit cards with zero interst if you have too.. and it will work its self out, brother...

probably... and how is your hd100 fairing.. and getting the ladies? Is it a sexy beast? I know I'd put my fat big pitbull against that skinny lanky deer any day of da week.... but that's just my opinion which now can be internally and externally substantiated...

I haven't had this much fun with a camera since that night in Vegas last Novemb....
:banned:

indeed me too.. and maybe next time you are in vegas you could do a little HD shooting and then sell it online...

Personally I don't know why a JVC owner would be checking out the HVX site.. seems like a lot of people do. I pretty much only check out sites that I'm interested in getting or currently own. Would any HVX owners admit to scoping out the JVC site for kicks?

You tryin' to start something with me bro? huh? Wanna step outside? Yeah thought so...

Actually I came this close to buying the HVX, coulda got a new one for for 4700 bucks. Still like reading about it. Though it's not right for my purposes its feature set is totally cool with the variable frame rates etc.

Also, dvinfo is great, but let's just say members here get a little more latitude. To join dvinfo, they first implant electrodes in your neck and any time you veer off topic or get out of line they ZAP you! Then there's dv.com, where anything goes, you can start a thread there in the XL2 and 24 hours later they'll be arguing about super string theory.

They won't even let me post in dvinfo, I'm not cool enough. I even agreed to the electrodes. It shouldn't surprize folks that people with other cameras are also interested in the hvx and visit this forum. If you're on the fence, like myself, where else are you going to get opinions of people actually using the camera. Now I'd like to give my arguments for super string theary . . .

im with invision i need to stop looking around in the hvx forums cuz i want one so bad im just waiting for more space on the p2 card. hey dc how you doing did you ever get a p2 card for you hvx?

Actually that does sounds wonderful. I've been training in martial arts since I was 16.. on and off, and currently do Ving Tsun kungfu... and on June 2nd will be producing a mixed martial arts tournament in Tampa, Florida. If you'd like we could be the under-card... and I'd let you bring 2 friends with you so it would be 3 on me.... Seriously...but also joking too... LOL

Sorry if we come across militantly.. but we love our HVXs here. I'm not a diehard Panny guy... just the HVX had and has everything I wanted in a camera and I jumped ship from Canon to this camera and have been so happy every since....

but if you do want to scrap, bring your HD100 and I'll bring the HVX and we'll see what produces a richer red when we hit the matt...

It's all in good fun and I hope you share some JVC footage with us... Could you post some? thanks

You should try my Drunken Fist, Justin. " Drunken Fist? Only So so" is Not a line you would like to say :)

Or how about a "Now I show you some trick or two!" (I love martial Arts movie's one liners... :)

I must warn you, my kung fu is very good, I have trained in the secret Long Dong form of Kung Fu, but Master Wong teaches us restraint, humility and to respect our parents. But if someone insults our camera, then Master Wong permits us to kill about forty people.
