I just erased the wrong hard drive.....OSX

Tried a search, but I keep getting an error......

I dropped a new drive into one of the bays and selected the wrong one, named it and clicked erase. I realized this as soon as it was almost done. Time slowed down....

Now that we all know i'm an idiot, can anyone recommend any software to "unerase" or "Unformat" the drive. I promptly ejected it, so i'm assuming 99% of the data is still there. The drive itself functions fine,
and i'm using OSX on a mac pro

Thanks

This saved my erased hard drives many times! You may need another hard drive to write the data to.

Data Rescue X

Data Rescue 3 is the same software used by many data recovery services, law enforcement, all major branches of the U.S. Military and major intelligence agencies. Data Rescue 3 has saved our customers from having to use a data recovery service, which can cost thousands. You will need to save your recovered files to either an internal or external hard drive (USB or FireWire), removable media device (such as a Zip or MO) or a networked drive.

Yikes. I've recovered reformatted drives using recovery software but it was my own XP NTFS so it's still doable I imagine.

No idea about OSX on mac but hang in there. I'll check the software I used to see if it's compatible with yours...

//edit: as above post, yeah, you'll need a secondary drive to save the data to.

//I used Stellar Pheonix. Not sure if it does OSX. Sorry. http://www.stellarinfo.com/

appreciate it guys, Data rescue looks good. anyone know of any free programs? but a hundred buck vs. days of redoing everything sounds good...
Also JLEO, did that software affect the integrity of the data at all? That drive is about 75% percent full of nothing but clients video files....

There are a lot of free programs, but you'll have to try them to see how they fare recovering entire harddrives. I hear good things about Restoration. I can't remember what I used last time.

alright, I'm gonna intentionally erase an old drive i've got collecting dust and try a few of these suggestions before i go for broke.

feel free to keep the suggestions coming in and thanks again!

I will post review/breakdown sometime Monday.
