I just bought AF100 and need suggestions on lens

Looks good. Ya gotta like the power zoom and 14x zoom range. It looks like you have a nice run n gun set up.Do you have a way to monitor in the shoulder mount position?
I have a DP6 and a friction arm that I attach to the AF's top handle. Definitely want to get something smaller like an Alphatron. Going to wait til after NAB this year to make any purchase though.

Hi. I'm new to video and bought the AF101 (uk). After reading around bought a couple of lenses to get started. But I read about these cinema lenses and got interested. Manageged to buy one from UK and via a C to MFT adapter fixed it on the cam. The image I get is like looking down a tunnel! What I can see is crystal clear. What do I to do to alter this and make it into a full frame picture. My knowledge of cameras is pretty basic and I learn by the day. The actual lens is a Canon TV Zoom J10x10. 10-100mm 1:2.3. Cheers.

Chances are you are going to need a tele-extender. You might be able to get away with a 1.4x, or you might need a 2x. With a 1.4x that's going to turn it into a 14-140 1:3.2

Paddy,

You unfortunately made a bad selection of a Canon broadcast lens. As Michael said, these 2/3" lenses need the extender option to work correctly. You may be able to find a stand-alone extender/doubler. But if it were me, wanting to experiment with lower cost cinema style lenses, I'd sell that lens and buy a different Canon 2/3" lens that has an 'I' in the lens type, which indicates it has the doubler built in.

Take a look at this link, where the lens codes are explained - http://blog.abelcine.com/2007/05/25/broadcast-lens-nomenclature-key/

The lens you have is slower than most ENG style lenses, doesn't have much of a zoom range, and it's wide side isn't so wide. There are an endless selection of modestly-priced ENG lenses that are faster, wider, and bigger zoom, with the extender built-in on ebay.

Hi Paul and Michael. Thank you for your reply and advice. It seems I've bought the wrong lens and will now try and sell the cinema lens to help fund one more suitable!! Its certainly a learning process coming into video from audio! Cheers.
