In my screenplay someone accidently gets hit by an oncoming vehicle. And I have no idea how to shoot that correctly.

I'm blowing my brains out here. A lot of student flimmakers have been capable of pulling it off. For example the short film, "Tangent", (which you can find on apple's student gallery) where a drug addict's girlfriend gets hit by an oncoming car during an arguement. It looks so real and they boast that the whole film was shot in iMovie! OH MY GOD!!

Is there anyone out there in the world that can show me how to film someone getting hit by a car (in a safe way. lol). Please I beg of you!

The basic, simplest way of doing this..is to lock your camera down and shoot a car going by (leaving the frame), an actor simulating getting hit by a car, and then shoot a clean plate. Then composite in AE&, Shake, Fusion 5 or whatever.

Hope that helps.

There's some very easy ways of simulating a car hitting someone. Rent out the movie "Trainspotting" and watch the first 2 or 3 minutes when Ewan MacGregor is running away from the security guard. He gets hit by a car and it's very well done. Watch it frame by frame and you'll see how mutiple angles/shots give you the illusion that he's been run over..........

No CG, No Greenscreen Nothing but simple shots spliced together............

you can have a character hit without actually showing it, show a person watching it or something creative instead

People! He's asking for your advice...not for your sarcasm. Now stop being writers and give this guy a serious how-to (VFX):

And post this to tech section (special effects) please.

Choose an interesting, but non-moving background.
Lock the camera.
Let the actor run/walk away from the camera crossing a street towards the non moving BG.
Let him stop in the middle of the street and PRETEND he sees a car that is about to hit him.
Take whatever material you can find to build a live sized doll, dress it with the actors clothes, put it in the middle of the street where the actor was standing.
Hit the doll with a truck, run over it etc.
Combine the shots in post, mask out the plate with the actor until the point where he reacts to the car.
Cut to the frame where the truck hits the doll.
Take your thumb and stick it in your... kidding...
This is VERY ruff of course, but if you don´t get the idea, you should get some help anyway...
Good luck!
And yeah, this thread should be moved...
