I wasn't able to have the location for shooting as long as I was originally scheduled. The owner cut us short by about 3 hours, and we had to work fast to get as much done as we could. I didn't have time for getting much coverage in the end and we had to leave. The scenes I did get were good, and with the coverage I got, I think I can cut and splice and make it all work. However there is one problem, I could not fix, now that I went through the footage. There is a scene where one of the actors is standing, then when the camera goes behind him, he is all of a sudden sitting. I was going to shoot another part of the scene in between these two takes, but did have time of course.
Now I can start with the take of actor A, standing. Then cut to a second to Actor B's look on his face. Then cut back to the actor A sitting, all of a sudden. In the middle cut with actor B, I can also dub over with the sound effect of actor A getting back into his chair. But it did not show him sit back down, as it cut to the other guy for a second, then back. Plus he was in such a dramatic unrelaxed moment, that I find it hard to believe he would all of a sudden sit back down in a second. It just doesn't feel convincing. But I think there is no other way around this one. Thoughts?
