I have $10000 to spend help me with picking my equpment

Can we use MXO on WinXP using Edius Brodcast 4.5x / QT ?
How does the Blackmagic interface (pro) compare with the MXO solution?

I just picked up an arri softbank kit. Oh my it is so very nice. It came with a 300, two 650s, and a focus flood 1k. All stands and a chimera were included in the industrial case. Weighs damn near 80lbs. My next investment will be a light control kit, c-stands, and other misc. grip gear.

As far as other purchases, I too purchased two G2 100 series lav systems, an MKH-416 and a ktek carbon fibre boom pole with side mounted xlr. Its nice to have that way in cases you have to put the pole down quickly, it won't damage the xlr connection.

In summary, i second what everyone is saying about sound gear. Sound is half the picture. After sound, i'd recommend grabbing some lights then expand your horizons from there.

But thats just my 2 cents

MXO does not work on PC... strictly a Mac solution.

The Intensity is HDMI in/out and the Pro model for another $100 adds analog in/out (useful if you have some legacy BetaSP to capture or output). It WILL work with windows or mac. Difference here is that you are doing output to HDMI HDTV. So, it will not be as accurate in terms of the ability to calibrate a monitor as you would get from MXO to a DVI monitor or to SDI and certainly not as accurate as an SDI card to SDI monitor. It is still very good and an excellent way of being able to monitor HD. We seem to have the hardest time getting people to realize that you cannot monitor video from your computer monitor. You must monitor from an external NTSC/PAL/HD monitor.

Ned,

I was talking about the BM HDLink Pro, where you can upload lookup tables, and they provide lookup tables for Panasonic cine-gamma.

Again thank you all for the advice and thoughts. I really appreciate them all. I plan on shooting a few music videos, i also plan on a MTV TRL sort of show. Also a doc and short film that are both on the works.

I realize the great amount of work and study ahead of me.

I settled on these few things for now;

Computer Monitor: NEC 2690
Edit Software: Final Cut Studio Pro 2
Mac Pro
MATROX MXO
LOWELL Light KIT
Samsung 46inch HD TV LNT71F
Panasonic LH1700W
Audio Technica Mic's
Carbon Fiber Boom MIC

Here goes nothing i will stay in touch with you all and share my projects in the future
you're going with Audio Technica? Why? any particular reason? I used to work in the AV industry and Sennheiser is by far the best quality for the price.

MY boss already purchased the mics, i was not involved during some of the initial equipment buying. Right now i am just finishing the kit. He left out a few vital pieces of equipment.

I have use SEIN wireless system in the past and yes its a good brand and they put out good equipment. But so does AT plus i will be adding more audio in the future and will proberly mix and match.
