I hate Vegas

I captured video today...Rendered a scene with clip 6 in it...Now I go back to playing with the project after turning off my computer and clip 6 doestn't seem to show the full length...even if I re-add it to the timeline...Sure if I go to raw footage by going onto folder view via the start button then clip 6 shows as the full clip...
But it doesnt even when I click preview clip before adding it to timeline...What on earth can be wrong?

I captured fine as I then edited the clips and made the movie and that is ok but now I go back into sony and it doesnt want to play the full clip...the pictures seems to stop panning but the sound continues...I was playing with sound :)...but I've opened a new project and imported the raw files and it does the same thing...even though in a normal folder I can see the full clip.

Did you put that clip through the trimmer at all, and then somehow inadvertently create a subclip?

Or, did you save the project and select "save trimmed copies of project media"?

(Something like that must have happened, because there's no way Vegas could affect a raw clip without it.)

To make sure, right-click on the clip in your media pool and choose "Replace" -- then replace it with the same clip from your Windows folder.

I Decided after the problems to Go out of sony then rename the file 6x and then sony asked if I wanted to replace clip so I did that but it's doing it still..
I think I should try and get another editer...as It's really thumbly and messy editor I think.

This was DVX100 footage that you captured, through VidCap (DV)? Can you describe in exact detail what you did to capture?

This is not behavior I have ever seen, nor heard anyone complain about before.

Is there any chance you can upload the raw clip for me to test?

As far as editors go, there is no better choice for the DVX100 *than* Vegas. There may be other, non-DVX-related considerations, but for use with the DVX100, you simply can't do better.

OHHHH!!!! FFS....I am So Sorry!!! DO you know what has happened...For some reason I was moving these windows and the prieview window doesnt seem to shrink the image to fit everything in...And so because I have several clips of it stopping at the bridge view...the clip I have stops and follows her but because the screen seems to cut off the picture it looks like it's just another stop clip of the others...
Why couldnt they have sqaushed the image...I'm sure I'm used to them shrinking images...
I can now get over my stress...My eyes are sleepy but that's because I was out filming and hanging around for trains so I need to have a rest now and come back to it...Thanks for your help...Sorry for saying I hate sony :) but then I ony said Vegas :)

P.S I actually put the screen back to the corner at its usual size...but going from large video thing...so that's what caught me out...

Make sure, if you're going to resize the preview window, that you have the preview set to "auto" instead of "full." If you do, you won't have this problem again.

Thankyou...I am very stupid not to read instructions...but I do find it hard to after a while because my eyes hurt after a while and go a bit dizzy but normal things like looking at video and pics etc. are fine...
