I guess I'll play too...

Look ma no hands
This is the first time I've had the chance to test drive my new DVX100A out in the real world. Being the morbid bastard I am, I went to the cemetery. Here are a couple of grabs. Nothing fancy, just playing around:

Re: I guess I'll play too...

Nice DOF on the first shot. I remember the first time I came home with my camera. It was like bringing a newborn baby home!

It will bring you many hours of creative fun and potential business.

Enjoy!

Re: I guess I'll play too...

I'm so obsessed with depth of field I'll only shoot with the iris open and I intentionally cast people with small heads so I can zoom in further.

Well, not really, but the sad thing is that this is almost true.

The first shot is excellent, the second two are also good, but--since video doesn't have great lattitude--the sky is a little too white and the statues too dark. Some color correction could fix this and you probably exposed things just right in this situation, since you can't really give yourself more lattitude while shooting.

Haha...

Re: I guess I'll play too...

Just out of curiosity, what settings did you use to shoot those scenes? The reason I ask is that there is almost NO edge enchancement artifacts on those images. They look superb. When I shoot with my GL2, I always get edge artifacts. Excellent.

Re: I guess I'll play too...

Thanks, I was actually just using Scene file F6 with the chroma level turned down to -4. Everything else was the default setting.
