I got one of my HVX200's today!

It is so cool! AVS and Barb have been great, and I got the 4g P2 card with it. I'm in the process of checking it out now and one thing I found out is that with just a little modification it fits into my storm case (im2400) that I had my DVX100's in! Finally, I don't have to put out more money for something. Well, It's time to check out the operating instructions, and then I'll try it out.

Congrats. I'm going for the storm too.. keep us posted on how it fits with the foam.


Also, what number were you with AVS? A lot of eager beavers out here waiting for barb to call and say our camera logs are ready for gnawing on.... happy crack-head like beavers as we are...

I am number two, and I get the next one too, sorry. However I think they will get more than 1 next shipment, so hopefully number three etc will be getting theirs soon.

As for the storm, I had the DVX's fitted with the anamorphic lens, and I only have to take out a bit of foam to fit the HVX into the case. And I still have room for three batteries, the charger and a couple of tapes as well as the P2 cards. Actually if I had them I could put at least 6 P2 cards in their case and a couple more batteries in the storm case in addition to everything else already in there, and everything would still be protected by foam. The Storm im2400 is plenty big enough for this camera, and the price from Pangaea is very good. http://www.pangaea-expeditions.com/storm/index.html

Well, I will make my 500th post and say that I happen to be number 3 and I am foaming at the mouth to get mine :) I was hoping to get it today but looks like next week :cry:
 
Congratulation David......You have one hell of a camera in you hands. The HVX200 is a powerful tool; use it well!

Your wait will have been so worth it. The HVX is a great camera.. Philip, I believe you are going to be the first in our town of Costa Mesa Ca, to own a HVX200. You lucky bastard!

What accessories are you planning to add on?

Yes Barry I was hoping to do that - I didnt post for like 1.5 weeks hoping to get mine by then - HAHA.

Yo Pappas, I already picked up a new tripod (525MVB), got a new pellican 1600 like 2 mo ago, and I have lots of stuff from my DVX100a (DVrigpro, full audio kit, the indiFOCUS, etc.) I am looking at a few mattboxes but may stick to screw-in filters for the moment. I will get the Marshall 7" soon.

Good god damnit, I can't take this wait any longer!!!! I want/need my camera! I should have never sold my dvx100a ! well...back to the slave trade known as editing

Hey Ipc, sucks for us hua - I have pretty much decided to not call AVS anymore to get my hopes up hehe - I will wait for them to call me to pickup.
