No sh...t - I doubt the guy can tell anything from a photo of gear. A huge pile of flat black random stuff will probably do the trick.

And I am sure the text back would be "meet us in the lobby". Not sure if your gear would be there or your car when you got back out to the parking area. Craigslist....no good...started out as a good idea but didn't last.

Here's one:

Our second season show focuses on real life women who are in tumultuous relationships and pushed to the brink where enough is enough and their only response is an act of violence. Stories we choose involve use of a knife or other penetrative weapon. Our top rated production company is looking for people willing to tell these stories from their perspective and give insight to the personal experiences and struggles that led to their experience.

If you or anyone you know see their story in our description and would like it told please include your name, phone number, email, and a short description in your response

This is my favorite I've seen recently. It's obviously a rip but man it made me laugh.

I am looking for a professional crew to help me make it BIG in the film industry!

I have never worked on any films before BUT, I know all the film Lingo like, (ISO, ASA,C47, Gaffer, DP and 11 other film maker words), so well, that I sometimes make myself laugh. And I also know my film will be the next Block Buster hit from the east coast to the west coast.

I only want all professional crew members who have worked hard to purchase "Top Of The Line Equipment" to be on my crew and help me become famous on my short film that will get me anywhere in life!

Please dont not respond to this post unless you have the best equipment.

This team will be a part of the "Project 21 Film Festival" in Phila! And for those who dont know, everyone who enters the "Project 21 Film Festival" WINS AN AWARD! EVERYONE WINS!
Then they ("Project 21 Film Festival") will take my great film that I wrote and used your high end equipment on and sell it on their own DVD! Sorry we dont get any of the money from them selling our movie BUT, we will still win an award fro something! EVERYONE WINS!

If you think that this "Project 21 Film Festival" is a big joke, that's ok. I just wanna win and make it big and famous in the film business here in Philadelphia!

PLEASE HELP!
Dont worry, I will give you credit for your help once I find an editor to edit my film that was shot on your high end expensive equipment.

There is no pay for this BUT... there will be water (all you can drink from the fresh tap faucet) and Ill even provide a cup to drink out of! Sounds Great huh?
There may also be food, if one of my crew members moms can make us something. Ill give them credit also... once I find an editor to edit my film that was shot on your high end expensive equipment.

"Project 21 Film Festival" will help us all get to the top without starting from the beginning! You see!
Everyone should do the "Project 21 Film Festival" because one day they may be a REAL Festival like Sundance or Tribecca!

Please Only Professional with the BEST equipment apply.
Thank you
See at the movies!

What makes you think it is fake? :-) Sadly there are all to many of the sort of posts. I have this "wonderful" Idea/script/screenplay wot I rite and just need some help to make *MY* fortune. I have been working hard in this business for years watching films and last week decided to make my own.

The other one being: We are a business and we *will* make it big (though we haven't for the last X years) if you make a film for us. As you will get a credit along with minimum wage (if that) you will soar to fame on the back of us.

The trouble is 1 in every 10,000,000 does become the next Apple, Google, Spielberg or whatever and you kick yourself. However you are probably a LOT better off spending the money you would have spent on expenses buying lottery tickets.

Actually I got an idea for a script about that if anyone wan't to help for free......

In new york, they used to hilarious fake post making a mockery of the high level skills and massive equipment checklists being asks for free or massively unpaid work.

my advice to anyone starting out is to avoid craigslist like the plague for jobs. ( sometimes it seems there are real editing / compositing jobs in the paid job ads section )

only thing craigslist for film use is snarfing or selling gear quick or cheap quirky casting

Re: Craigslist ads... sometimes it seems there are real editing / compositing jobs in the paid job ads section )

I've picked up a couple of After Effects jobs from Craigslist, and for my commitment level, for the client's needs, everything worked out fine. I've also got some in front of the camera talent via CL as well, again commensurate with my level of production.

But I can also say, there have been many flake, perhaps spoof, posts, which don't go anywhere...

90% of my business in the last 7 years has come directly or indirectly from Craigslist . However, for every one legit job, there are 9 bottom feeder companies looking to pay ridiculous rates or get free work. I've done this long enough that I can spot 'em by the copy, no need to respond.
