I fear my DVX may be dying.

So I've been MIA from this board and camera work in general for about 3 years now. But I've finally devised a project and have pulled my DVX out of its foam case. I turned it on and there seems to be a blue tint over select black areas on the right side of the screen. When I switch to f1 and try an ABB, the screen goes black about and about a third of it on the right is bluish and fades into the black in the middle and on the left. Lighted areas come out nicely, but blacks become bluish. If anyone knows of this problem or possible solutions, I'd really appreciate hearing them. I have a gut instinct that this is going to need an actual camera repair, can that even be done? Thanks. -David

Here are a few images that show what I mean:

Doesn't look good. Try executing a Black Balance. Do a manual white balance but hold the AWB button in for a few more seconds and it'll do a black balance; it might clear up this issue.

The only problem is, in F5 and F6 there is no way to do an ABB, no matter how long I hold AWB it only performs an AWB, is that because I have the original dvx100, or is there some other way to get the ABB to function? It only works in the F1 mode.

It should work in all modes, I would think. In any case, once it's done it (in any of the scene files) it's done for all modes. So if it's going to help you at all, it would be already helping -- is the blue gone in your images?

it may be dying boy.

But frighteningly enough, i see aliasing liek that on my HVX when the Gain is pushed up to 12 DB. except mine is green. SCary...... IT goes away when you reduce the gain. Hopefully mine doesnt develop into this kind of problem.
