I don't even know where to begin with this. Overreaction or delusion?

It's good that this came out. I, (and Liam) have been saying for years "so what have you shot?" to Ketch and not getting any answer. For anyone to listen to a guy with 11k posts on reduser but virtually no work has never made any sense to me.
Finally people see that the self-proclaimed emperor has no clothes.

The flick failed to impress me.

Not the story, not the photography, not the editing, not the Dragon and not even the chicks,
that look like out of a cheap and cheesy 1990s music video.
But the fuzz that is created around this...
Taking about overreaction - good lord, it's just an other camera test - nothing to write home about.

Wow. Just wow.

Personally, I'd love to see this made into a feature. I need something to replace "The Room" for Saturday night quote-alongs.

The whole (brief) time I was watching it, all I could think was, "What's the name of that film you guys are always making fun of?" ^ That's the one!

The Red Dress was truly awful on about every level I can think of.

Hmm, I wouldn't normally comment, but this video seems like an advertisement for rape? The juxtaposition of a fashion shoot with images of Rape seems to be trying to illicit some sort of connection... what that might be I have no idea.

I would say the content of this video was sufficiently offensive... but perhaps the greater offense here was to the camera itself.

Zero budget but some pretty fancy Leica glass.
I wonder where he got those from?

I wonder if this is on-line anywhere still - as people seem to be seeing it.

In terms of Ketch, I think he's a bit of a dreamer. He thinks big but then stalls - it looks like this project has gone the way of The Tree of Life project. This short was also to lead onto a feature length movie, maybe that has stalled too.

Tim, the Leicas (as far as I know) are his. Ketch had a lot of kit and was an early owner of Reds - he also used to broker them for others. He moved to Italy to set up a studio/operation, but then returned to the States when that stalled.

As I say, it's hard to comment on the movie without seeing it. But, by all accounts I may have dodged a bullet.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with dreaming big. But big dreams are only made real after you've spent endless days/months/years working to make them happen. They aren't made by talking yourself up on the internet, or creating the perception of expertise of which you have very little.

How anyone involved in this project could ever have expected anything but a train-wreck of epic proportions is mind-blowing.

It doesn't seem quite right when someone makes a big issue of producing a no budget short, under difficult circumstances, when he's using his own collection of Summilux-C lenses, which retail around $25,000 a pop.

Yep. The tide is out and he's naked on the beach.

Years ago he used to claim on photography forums that he was the best fashion photographer in the world. All I ever saw from him were a couple of badly lit smutty snaps. You call him a dreamer if you want. I have another word...

Nope. not his, they were loaned. His studio operation in Italy was pure fantasy. Anyone believing that was ever going to become a reality is a fool.
