I can't accurately grade this clip. help!

Hi,
I have an original clip shot in UHD 10bit by myself with the Lumix GH6 and V-Log. But I can't do the perfect grading.
I can't add it to the other clips in the video because I can't manage it with the same chromatism as the other clips.
Unfortunately I shot it at 1 pm in full sun, when it's prohibitive to take photos. ;)
Maybe with Resolve you can do it, but I don't know it at all, because I use Edius 11.
I attach the clip with a Still too to check the chromatism that must be similar.
I hope someone can help me edit that clip in the best way.

Given it's daytime in bright sunlight, It's better to lean towards blue than orange and maybe magenta over green in this circumstance that is if you're stuck on increments deciding between colors. I remember from daylight picture profile that it adds more blue and sometimes green tends to be the result of over saturation. Sometimes the camera's color science limits you, and well you just have to pick the best color you can.
 
Excuse my ignorance, but what is the difference between the 3D LUT and the original Panasonic one? What does the 3D correct more than the original LUT?
 
Both are 3D LUTs - and there are hundreds, thousands out there in the world to experiment with.

It's common for people not to use the original Panasonic, Sony, Canon, etc. ones and use something else that simply looks better and offers more variety in its correction or creativity (depending on the ones you use).

And you can stack them, too - and make individual tweaks.
 
From my experience with 3D Luts on my footage, LUTs usually tend to worsen footage unless it is color corrected first. When it is color corrected, then add LUTs, not before... Unless the look in camera was intentional with the look in post-production. I do add LUTs to my footage, but I treat it like salt than actually directly rely on it. Surprisingly, the very thing you're afraid of is the best method. What one LUT may do for one footage, may not work for other footage.

Mathematically incrementing the colors for accuracy based on monitoring tools helps more so than anything, especially when using Adobe software with the color correcting being a numbers game than an eyeball game (my eyes are bad from being unhealthy and playing video games close to the screen so this helps). My advice is influenced by Doug Jensen's advice in his videos he sent me where I noticed him color correcting his footage. It's about accuracy first then the look.

On top of that, test what the footage looks like on several different monitors. What surprised me about my footage was one time I played back a YouTube video on a Sony PS4 at a friends house and noticed how oddly off the colors were on that TV compared to my computer at home. I've made these comparisons too when looking at my phone which is bluer and even my laptop. The more monitors you can compare it to the better of an idea you can have what your viewer is seeing.

That's what I did with the sample Log footage supplied.

I first applied the correct CST to the sample .MOV file. Doing this ensured me that I had Panasonic's sensor data mathematically correct conversion from LOG to 709. That sensor data is supplied by Panasonic to Blackmagic for use in Resolve. So why not use it? After the correct Panasonic LOG to 709 transform was applied, the clip was then manually color graded to match the supplied still.

I then generated and exported a 65 point 3D LUT for max LUT accuracy for use on the poster's other footage. Regardless of how it looks on various monitors and on final subjective eyeball viewing analysis, the transform, the grade and the LUT should, if you want to be objective and accurate, adhere to accepted broadcast standards. It should be correct on your WFM and Vector. That's why previously, I had added that really the levels needed to be adjusted as the sample MOV is pushing into the clipper. The 'look' and final tone is purely a subjective observation. But should still meet the standards. You can flavor 'look' and 'tone' any way you want it.

When I tried to grade that clip, I couldn't get rid of that damn yellow that was the dominant color of the V-Log clip.
If it's okay with you, could you send me that corrected clip in its grading and if you've already built the 3D grading LUT for my Edius 11, send me that too? But again, only if you've already built it, because I don't want to take up your precious time for my personal stuff.

No problems. I'll PM you direct with a download link where you will find a ZIP file. The ZIP contains three files, #1 the correction 3D LUT. #2 two video clips. One is labeled LUT corrected, and the other is labeled LUT corrected - peak corrected. The peak corrected brings the peaks down from the clipper.
