I bought a dvx100a less than a week ago and focus ring fells like there is little dust inside it. When i rotate the focus ring there is barely hear able screaking sound, is that normal+

I think that I recall that when I first purchased my dvx100a at certains times the focus ring did make a "screaking sound" you could feel it more than hear it. But after a couple of weeks of use that went away. Now it's as smooth as glass. I don't think it is a problem, but you may want to contact panasonic just to be sure.

did u check total head-hours usage of ur cam...just wondering? one of my friends had some similar problems with one of his new cams (not dvx) and later discovered that he had not got it 0 meter...it had already been used >:(

hope this is not the case with u.. :)

From the menu, and they were at 00 at the beginning. check your manual if you can not find em.

today i called to panasonic and they told me that they will take it apart and check. it takes a few days. so i will have to postpone it till after my next project.
