James, I've seen a few EX1s going for $1900 on ebay.

Sure, and I did say "Perhaps" but I made an argument for why your 5 year expectation might be on the optimistic side. Neither of us will know for sure until it happens.

Those of us who are already owners certainly are hoping the values hold longer, whereas those looking to buy cheap hope prices fall sooner.

4k was the big barrier jump, and while there certainly will be more generations of cameras, and I expect the fact that the FS7 does internal 4k recording will keep it's value high until 4k is superceded, or there are very significant jumps in bit depth or codec quality.

We'll see.
