Hytron 50 not working with AJA Ki Pro Mini

Hey gents. I'm having a problem with my Hytron 50s not working on the Ki pro mini. They are fully charged(checked with a meter) and when I put the on to the Ki Pro mini, they seem to reset back to 0 - no power.
The Hytrons when attached to my Panasonic monitor work very well - no problem there. When I use my Dionic 90s on the Ki pro no problem there as well - these last almost all day.

Am I missing something? Has anyone else encountered this?

Thanks in advance!!

Mario - Perhaps the Hytron batteries have an excessive freshly charged value; meaning the voltage level is higher than is supported by the Ki Pro Mini. (Batteries, though rated for a value such as 14.4v, can have a higher value after they have just been recharged.) This might explain why they work fine on your monitor (if it supports a higher input voltage value). It does not sound like a fault with the Ki Pro Mini per se since you seem to have no issue with the Anton Bauer Dionic 90 batteries. Since you have both types of batteries, you might consider using the Dionic 90 batteries you have with the Ki Pro Mini and the Hytrons with the monitor; as you noted, the Dionic 90 can power the Ki Pro Mini for a very long time.

If you want to investigate this further, please feel free to contact AJA Technical Support via phone or email between 9am and 5pm PST, Monday through Friday.

Hope this information is helpful,

Thanks Jon.

Just got information from Anton Bauer. They were very helpful and speedy in their reply to my problem. Great company. This might be helpful to others who may encounter the same problem. Though I've had no
problems with the Hytrons and they work well with my monitors they are too old for the Ki Pro. They don't have , what the technician called, "the start up spike in voltage," that is required. I didn't know about
the spike voltage needed. LIve and learn I guess. Thanks again Jon!
