Hypnogaja music video on dvx

the lead singer was also under a sodium vapor light that was above him for fill.....I agree a bit that the singer was dark...but we decided to go with it because of the dark mood of the song....overall I am happy with the dark vibe look.....there was no color correct in post....the look of the vid was all in camera....i white balanced to a white card in the garage....it was a strong orange/red and the white balance gave me a greenish/blue that I liked so i went with it.

I didn't slow down the snap zoom.....that is in camera...not sure why it felt slow mo too you

the shots of running along were done with the actor actually holding the camera in his hand and running with the camera....i wanted to do car shots but we couldn't because traffic was going in the opposite direction on those tunnel shot so we didn't want to break the law

hope that answers the questions.....yeah work lights kicked ass....who would have thunk it!!!!!!!

Ron,

Great video. It shows based on your skill, vision, and confidence from both the filmmakers and the band itself. To get it a little more 'messed up' with non-lf cuts, here is what I would recommend for something similar to this video in the future with the DVX:

-cut out the static shots-- it is a little film-school-like and interrupts the camera motion. If this was your intention, however, I thought it did not have a detrimental impact on the flow.

-maybe add an extra storyline; thus have the band as incident 1, the chase as incident 2, and another related story as incident 3, which is somehow relevant-- it can be anything, as long as it makes them look good and kick ass in the video

If I think of anything else, I'll try and let you know. Stick with this style, it is pretty tight, less the static shots
