okay so I started a forum cause BH has 2 differnt fotos of the HVX the prototype and then the normal one.. I got mine today, and it has a speaker on the side like the prototype and it has a 16:9 matteboxish infornt of the lens like the prototype, but everything I see looks like the regular one. Does everyone have a speaker.. If this is not right and i got a regular one, people really need to use the correct pictures...

hmm... that´s a bit strange...

If I´m not completely mistaken, my HVX200 PAL has the speaker, but no matteboxish look. In other words, one characteristic from each of the two versions above.

YOu got screwed, you need to call B&H and scream at them for selling you an improper off brand prototype...

hehe thanks I just needed to be slapped :) I am not a fan with this mattte box(I didi not even bother to put the french flag on...And as for my Chrosziel (also with french flag), I dont have an 85mm adapter , so I guess I will sell that one as well.. I want the new Chrosziel though, 1500 bucks.. OUCH!

even if you had been screwed- b and h is amazingly good with returns. I bought a dvx from them a while ago and it arrived with a small scratch on the lens. They sent me a new one next day, before they got the old one back....
 
I had the chance to have both american and european model at the same time for some months... and there's only 1 external difference between the two cameras...
the mode chk button!
in the european model is called DISP/MODE CHK and in the american model only MODE CHK

By European you mean Pal? Well mine has DSP/MODE CHK.(So is mine european) Has anyone else recived a camera like the one I received?? Also you just just external difference. Is there internal differences?

I attached some GetInfo on two test shoots. I have no idea besides the res. everything else is greek to me.

How can you tell? What makes you beleive it is NTSC, and what would it say to make it pal?

The camera that you have is a regular HVX200. The picture without the speaker is a mock-up. Compare your camera to the HVX200 site at Panasonic.

SurJones, if your package said HVX200P then you have the NTSC model. The 'P' stands for Panasonic (or Panasonic, North America I think). The Pal versions are HVX200E, the E for Europe. Relax, I've got an NTSC and your camera looks just like mine.
 
Your camera looks just like mine and I know I have the NTSC version because I can shoot 24pN whereas the PAL can only shoot 25pN (I believe).
