Hxv 1394 problem

my hvx goes to device 1394 then quickly says 1394 disconnect
but nothing appears when i enter log and transfer in fcp
any help? am i doing something wrong?
thank u.

also do i need to format or update the firmware? im on a mac.

720 24pn. i believe this process used to work but now i switched hvx's due to the other having a failed evf and now this one is doing this.
 
Are the drivers installed?

What OS and what Mac with how much RAM?

Are you certain the FW port is working?

Did you try the USB connect instead?
 
Try going into the disc utility and see if you can mount it manually. If you cannot mount it, either the settings in the camera are wrong, or the FW cable/ port is bad.
 
you don't need drivers. it looks like you have the mode set to 1394 device (vice host). make sure you do this.

Mac On
Camera Off
FCP off
connect f/w cable
camera on - then MCR mode, then hold the button for PC mode
observe 1394 Disconnect screen changing to 1394 Connect
observe NONAME drive mount in Mac Finder
now open FCP, and Log & Transfer by navigating to NONAME..

if this doesn't work, you most likely have a f/w problem (cable, connector, etc.)
