I want to purchase a camera-top LED light like this one to use at events & wedding receptions but i don't want the extra hassle of buying added battery packs, chargers and the fuss of running it all.
I picked this particular light as there is an option to buy a replacement base with XLR connector.
So my question is if i purchased the said camera-light and the XLR adaptor, could i use to to plug into the HVX's XLR port to power the light?
Would this work? Would it drain the HVX200 battery too fast? What are my options here? Would a Pag light be better? Is it even possible to run a light from the camera's power source without some sort of extra pack? There seems to be so fewer articles on the web reviewing camera-top lights i feel like i'm taking a bit of a plunge in the dark here.
