Hi!

I bought my 1st Camera today, and I am excited. One of the members here lives in my state and sold me a HVX200P - woohoo!

OK, have some questions directed to experienced users of this camera.

What's the difference between the HVX200P & A? I'm a 1st time user of this camera, how user friendly is it? will it be hard for me to learn to operate?

Any Tips???

thanks!!!

Take it back and get the A... The A is the new version... Just came out... Same thing as the HVX200, but with a new sensor block that has less noise, and is a little better in low-light.

Go tell them you want the A and why did they give you the old 200 :)

P is just a marker to notate that it's NTSC for this region. But, you want the 200A... unless maybe you got that one at a discount.

Later,
Jason

Right-o. Then again the A costs a little more than the 200. It's worth the price but if you bought used you probably didn't pay 4800 - 5000 for the camera with cards. Probably less.

The 200A is much better than the 200, indeed. I'm loving it, and I really disliked the 200.

Good deal. Use it to make beautiful images.

Until a month ago everyone on this board have exactly that camera to work with.
And by now probably 98% of us have the same camera you have.

So enjoy it.

About what? Using the camera?

Read Barry's book from cover to cover paying a lot of attention.
A shoot as much as you can.
Make sure you take slowly at the beginning, get your self familiar with the camera, settings, operation, etc...
Be patient and dedicated.
Alex.

thanks!

so, what I really have is the HVX200? the "P" really means nothing?

P is ok. That's what you want.

Didn't mean to freak you out or anything. I just got the impression (made the assumption) that you bought the camera new from a dealer.

Read Barry's book. Try his scene files that come on the disc with the book. Tweak them to your liking. Shoot. A lot. :)
