I have experienced a weird focussing problem recently with three different HVX 200E camcorders.
While being on manual focus, I suddenly felt a buzzing vibration inside the camera and then the focus went crazy. In the worst case it sets itself to macro, or starts pumping in and out of macro - while it is still set to manual and the focal distance displayed in the evf doesn't change.
As I said, this happened with three different HVX200E in the last few weeks and the one connection between the incidents was that the temperature was near zero degrees Celsius (that is 32 degrees Fahrenheit).
I am not sure if this affects the autofocus as well - I have felt the buzzing inside the camera when I was on autofocus, too, but it seemed to affect it less. However I was also having some focussing problems with the autofocus (that is: I was wide open with the next objects several meters away, but the AF decided to set itself to macro).
I wouldn't mind the slight AF problems that much - but the focus going to macro while it is set to manual is absolutely deadly.
