hvx200a wont stop recording...

i rented an hvx200a this week and it was doing something ive never seen before.

when you hit the main record button it starts and records fine - BUT IT WONT STOP.
the handle rec button wont stop it either - NOTHING. cant even power it off. you have to actually pull the battery to get it to shut off.

BUT, if you use the handle record button only all is well.

is this some "feature" im not aware of or is the camera malfunctioning?

Doesnt sound like anything Im aware of. The only thing (remotely close to that) is when yuo hit record and you are doing interval mode you actually have to hit the down arrow to stop recording as opposed to the record button again. But that doesnt sound anything like what you are experiencing.

That actually sounds exactly like the problem he's having. Check through your menus (recording setup), make sure it's set to Normal and not Interval

nice thought. and i did check that, but as far as i know the camera defaults back to normal when powered off.

sounds to me like the camera needs a little technical attention
