HVX200a & HMC150 Two Camera Shoot

I've been hired for a 2 camera shoot and have an HVX200a. The other shooter has a HMC150. I plan on shooting 1080/60i and editing in Adobe CS5. The two cameras produce different file formats but I would guess that the footage should be compatible. Are there any known problems with using these 2 cameras on the same project?

Thanks in advance!

I haven't matched the two cams you mentioned, but I have matched a HPX170 to a HMC40 which is also AVCHD but has CMOS sensors. I found the Panna Mojo pretty similar between the two. What I did was shoot the same scenes and matched them up on a color corrected (via Matrox) HDMI monitor. After about two hours of playing with scene files, I was satisfied (I'm not a pro editor). Someone could take this a lot farther, but my goal was to reach a workable A-B situation.

Thank you, Grant. The other shooter lives in AZ and I'm in NC so unless I can find an HMC150 here, I probably will not be able to match them. But from your comments, and because of the similarities between the 2 cameras, I think I'll be OK.

All the best to a guy from a beautiful state,

When you say a two camera shoot, do you mean both shooting the same scene from a difernt angle? If so, in my experience getting a good white balance makes getting amatch in post much easier.

Yes, for the most part, we will be shooting the same thing from different angles, but the B camera operator will also pick up other things as they happen, not so much like a planned movie shot list. I agree 100% that white balance is a crucial part of matching footage between two cameras.

Thank you for your response,
Linda
