Whoever started the rumor about the HVX having noise problems is an idiot.
Check this exclusive clip from the film "Inner Quest". Its shot on HD, but this clip is SD (that was whats allowed).

I've shot a lot of stuff with the HVX. The noise is there.

I can see noise, it's just not in the blacks because they are crushed way too much.

I've seen stuff, shot on the Red, F900 that has noise

BTW, it has to do mostly with lighting, yes we did crush the blacks a little, there's a reason why there's menus to tweek in there (no offence)

and no one cares how you achieve the look except other filmmakers. Not the audience.

He's right, though; after all the processing this clip went through, you really can't draw any conclusions about the noise in the original footage.

I would, however, caution against casting general aspersions on anyone who has noise in their footage.

hmmm, points well taken. I should post the original before processing (in post), i didnt crush the blacks in camera, just tweeked a couple of other settings. the original looks clean. We just wanted the harsh look for the scene and used a temporary magic bullet look in post that crushed the blacks. This is not the final version...yet.
