I got my HVX200a about an hour ago and Im trying to figure out how to upload simple test clips into FCP. I have Final cut studio 2 P2storeManager and p2cms. I know I have to log and transfer in FCP but I dont think the mac pro is reading the camera. Im going through FW800 I am not sure what the 1334 is other then the fw output on the HVX200a. I am looking to capture 720p/24pn

I have a Panasonic HVX200a and I want to know is there an easy way I can capture my camera on the computer without using an P2 card adapter? I have a usb P2 adapter that is not really working. I am using a PC but is there any software that can instantly use or read from my fire wire from my HVX200a to my computer? I have Premiere CS4.

Also does anytbody know where I can get a shotgun mic mount holder for my HVX200a? I have looked and looked as they are hard to find. I need to put a shotgun mic on it.
 
I normally just plug the hvx in using USB. Then hit the vcr button on your camera and hold it down until it goes to the pc function. It will then mount the cards to your desktop and will allow you to log and transfer.
 
Do you use a video editing program such as Premiere or something that will capture it or recognize it better? I have had no luck with any ubs but I but I can try again.

I tried the usb port on my HVX200a to my computer, doesn't see anything. If I use the fire wire the computer see's it but can't capture or import it. I have Premiere cs4 but I can't find my capture on there either to capture from my P2 64gb cards. What do you recommend I do or software or something I can try to get my video on capture? Is there software you recommend, I use a PC, not a mac also. I want to be able to have an easy capture process but also I have shot on time lapse, 24p, 60p so the capture will be different in the card, will that affect the capture settings also? Scott

Have you figured out how to capture your HVX200a? I need some help if you know how. I am using a PC only, I don't have a P2 card reader but if you know what is the easiest method as far as programs or something let me know. Also I am looking for a HVX200a shotgun mic mount, can find anything out there expect for one that is really after market looking.
