Hvx200 will have both 24p and 25p PAL LAND !

Hopefully so, but I'm not trusting that site. It lists the variable framerates of the NTSC-version - no 25 or 50 in that list. So it most likely has been copied from the NTSC specs.

Whilst this is interesting - I'll wait to see the official PAL specs from Panny before blowing my load....

Oh Jarred - isn't this pic on Adcoms site one of your pics?

When I spoke with a representative of Panasonic Broadcast Europe some weeks ago, he definitely negated a 24p feature on the PAL version.

I've also found this answer to my request:

Dear Costumer
The other frame rates are not fixt yet.
Please direct your inquiry to our swiss distributor John Lay Electronics Phone 041 259 96 32

This may actually be true since one of the features is "variable frame" rates, and if Sony's Z1 is PAL/NTSC switchable then its not really something too far fetched.

no. i asked the rep as well and he said it will DEFINITELY not be a PAL-NTSC cam. not gonna happen.

i also doubt they will include a 24p framerate, although it would be good for my cinema-ad work......don´t know what ADCOM is doing with giving all these facts they cannot know.

This is the same site that got the CCD specs wrong by the way.
Given their record for accuracy, if they were to post that the sun was going to rise tomorrow morning I'd think about going out and getting a flashlight.

The HVX will not be PAL NTSC switchable.
The cam is already in production, and this has been covered more than once.
DefPerception.com has a whole string of replies in the comments explaining WHY the cam won't be switchable.

While the PAL specs may still have time to be changed - which I doubt. As it stands today there will be no 24p in either 1080 or 720 on the "50Hz" AG-HVX200 - take this as a given.

The italian site declares "50p" Pal version, with 24p and 25p. It declares as an extra to shot in 24p, it could be true because Varicam shot in 24p, so Panasonic wanted that Hvx200 could match footage of Varicam that in Italy has 24p.
It will be a tremendous big trouble for Panasonic customers that have Varicam become crazy to match two cameras of the same company, don't you think?
