HVX200 vs Red 35mm lens

I'm directing a feature this summer and have the choice between shooting on Red with 35mm lens or shooting on 2-3 HVX200. Of course I wanted to shoot Red at first, but now many people have been advising me to shoot HVX with two camera set up. Most of the movie is out side with lots of light. Most of the cast is kids and so it would be an advantage to be able to shoot faster. The end project is also to look more cheerful then gritty, which is really the only way i've seen good Red. But will it hurt me to not have as good of an out put in the end.

Just wondering what you guys think and some reasons for doing one over the other.

I don't know about the Red Camera, but I have seen HVX200 footage against 4K Dalsa footage (both shot by the same D.P.), and the HVX200 footage didn't even remotely compare to the 4K footage.

Could you maybe go with two cameras a little higher-end than the HVX200, but not quite Red, like the EX1 or HPX300?

As for using different camera's, I can't the deal I have is for HVX or Red, and at this point no lens adapters, do you think it would really be worth it for me to get those if I could just use the red? Or will those make the HVX worth it to be able to shoot faster and easier?

No doubt HVX is easier and faster to shoot with, but the two cameras are in different leagues, you can't really compare them. RED will blow away the HVX in terms of quality any day though, and I love my HVX.

You could rent 2 Reds from IndieRentals for the same price ($4500 a week, each) as 3 HVXs from Zacuto ($2500 a week, each). So I say 2 Reds and one complete set of lenses. What are the odds, you'll want two identical lenses at the same time, since they'll be different angles?

If you went with the HVX 35mm adapter package from Zacuto, it be almost more expensive to shoot with the HVX.

If those are the prices you are working with you are being ripped off.
I just glanced on the IndieRentals website, and their Red Camera packages are between $3-12K a month depending on the options.

Zacuto does in fact seem to have an HVX200 "Filmmaker" package for $2525 a week, which is more expensive than everything but the "Ultimate" Red Camera package from IndieRentals.
