I am looking at purchasing a HD or HDV camera.

I Know the price on the Canon it out there, but it really looks good on paper.

I am familiar with HVX200 and like it alot, but hate the idea of limited p2 storage an its exspense.

I use a MAC platform. With the hvx would I have to buy addition gear for footage transfer?

Need help?

you'll nead either a PCMCIA slot or firewire port. PCMCIA for direct P2 Transfer. The firewire for transfer from the camera or other offloading tool.

If you have an express card slot, I have read about a possible product from a company called dual systems which will be a PCMCIA connector that plugs into an express card slot. Though I have no idea when this will be available.

The firestore I hear will give you problems if you save to much info to it. Have you had any such problems will files corrupting due to too much footage.

I've not read anywhere indicating that too much footage on the FS-100 causes problems.

It is a nice device and appears to be getting more versatile
