HVX200 tape mode broken?

Hello,
Can someone tell me if this HVX needs repair?

The camera won't go to the menu when in tape mode and won't toggle between VCR/Camera mode.

that is weird. I would try hitting the reset button with a paper clip and maybe upgrading the firmware. Seems to be a software glitch, not hard ware. Those same buttons work on the p2 side right?

thanks RVE. I'll see what the guy that bought my HVX says. I thought it was weird since everything checked out before I sold it.
