HVX200 settings for new project?

All,

First, we just ordered a HVX200 with our grant money. We're starting a new project. Were we stupid to not spend the extra $400 on the HVX200A?

That said, I want to shoot in HD and 24p. Are there any tips and/or tricks that you guys have in the way of settings? Things I should definitely do or avoid doing?

I will be shooting onto a Firestore and editing in FCP.

Thanks in advance for your answer.

Don't think you're stupid for not getting the 200A. Just know that the 400.00 is worth the 200A if you can afford it. The camera's new image is incredible.

There are different flavors of HD on the HVX. Simple answer:

1) Set Camera to 0% in the camera Setup
2) For 720p HD Format in FCP shoot 720p/24pN
3) For 1080p HD format shoot 1080i/24pA

That's the FCP setup.

If you like the clean sharp look, Change the following in the scenefile menu:

add detail and coring and use norm color matrix and b.press gama.

If you like the mojo/grain of panasonic, use less detail, Cinelike color matrix and Cinelike Gamma
