HVX200 rebate?

I'm not trying to start a rumor, but is there going to be a monetary rebate along with the Barry W. Green book for the HVX200?

it says:
Panasonic will be offering this book as a rebate item in aprox. 1 month, so if you purchased a HVX200 from an authorized US dealer in the last 9 months you will be able to apply for this book through the Panasonic Rebate program.

If anyone has any info, please post it, I did a search & came up empty!
 
What I think it says is that you'll practically be getting the book for free, serving as a rebate for those that bought the camera earlier instead of having waited and bought the soon to be "HVX200 + Barry Green's HVX-book"-package.
 
There is no rebate. Jan said there's no rebate.

There's going to be a website where you can register for a free copy. Panasonic USA is giving away a free copy to everyone who has bought an HVX200 from an authorized US dealer. That's not really a 'rebate', it's more of a thank-you gift kind of thing. There's no cash and no checks and no money involved, it's a gift they send out when you register your US-authorized unit.

As for Europe, that would be something that Panasonic EU establishes. Right now only Panasonic US and Panasonic NZ are offering it to their customers.
 
Any word on when this website is going up where we can get the Thank You gift from Panny? Is there anyplace I can look to see when it happens?
 
I have a shoot that is starting in the beginning of August. That would make the free book website coming up right before we start. And with shipping it means I probably wouldn't get it until into the shoot. Lame. Now I have to figure out if I should just buy it right now.
 
You know, Barry's book should be sent out through all Panasonic dealerships worldwide!
I'd love to get that from Panasonic Japan!

"Lame" is kinda harsh. I think it's great that Panasonic is giving us something EXTRA for free. How many companies do that after you buy something?

If you have a shoot coming that you don't want to gamble on, just buy the book now.
I did and I won't mind having a second copy laying around.
 
"Lame" is not intended at Panasonic. They are not lame by any of my estimations. I'm super impressed that they are giving us the book for free! I mean the situation. I guess I should have said "bummer"

And I think i might just order it and have two, or sell mine when it comes in. Are shipping times fast. I remember someone posting that they ordered last week but saw that it was't going to ship til the end of the month. Is that true?
 
They're being shipped out within 24 hours (at least, that's the goal!) Whatever the post was about end-of-month was mistaken. All orders are shipped out right away.
