HVX200 Problem

I recently shot a concert and my footage turned out very pixilated. I was shooting in 480/30i. The concert was in a moderate dark setting with stage lights blinking, I was recording to DV as well as running the video feed to a switch sending that signal to DVD. After looking at the DVD on a TV the image quality is terrible. Can anyone give me some direction before I trash this camera. I sold my 60D to buy this camera and I am disappointed so far.

you sold your 60D for an hvx200 (not 200a?) interesting move : |

DV traditionally doesnt like the color red and will pixelate it more than other colors.

It may not be the camera at all; it may be whatever compressed the video for DVD.

But just about the last thing you should do is "trash" an HVX200 for how it performs in DV, especially 60i DV. DV is an add-on for that camera; it's not what it's designed for. It's designed to shoot DVCPRO HD. It would be like "trashing" an F-16 because it's not very maneuverable on the ground.
