Hvx200 Pal Or Ntsc?

Does anyone know if you loose quality in Final Cut Pro 5, if you have an NTSC HVX and edit in a NTSC timeline then spit it out through the program as a PAL master? :S This would be either in Quicktime or in something that could be Broadcast in a PAL Country...

Hey lawriejaffa,

why not go to madrid to buy your camera?

it would be pal, cheap and you can take advantage of the european promotion...

in this shop is 5288 euros vat included (works out at 3618 pounds vat included) and they have a physical shop where you can go to pick it up. I have bought my d70 from them and a couple of lenses and they are reliable. Check it, it might be worthy...

That is about £500 less than in the UK and Madrid is a good place for a weekend city break, Easyjet prices from £35 each way.

I have a friend who is considering the opposite, buying a PAL DVX100B because he's heard they are cheaper (can't verify this). To me, it sounds like more hassle then it's worth. It just strikes me that there are SO many headaches in making a film, why would you want to add one more in having to either convert your footage or play in a different standard then your region?
