The only problem with host mode with drive that I think of is it will format the drive before it write that means you copy the two card on 1TB drive which is only 8 GB. Then you shoot more and try to download again guess what it foramt your drive again before writing on 1TB drive. You loose your footage. Someone should test this work flow. The only option with 1TB drive is using a Laptop and then coping to HD not from the camera Host mode.

Camera Host mode is about the slowest way to do a transfer.
Use some other control device such as a laptop with pcmcia card slot....then you don't have to tie up the camera.
