HVX200 P2 internal Dubbing Mode

So after having my used 200HVX for a year now, I finally ran into a situation where I need to dub the HD footage that we will be shooting to SD.

I received a job that was originally produced in SD and has a lot of SD material in the form of AVID MXF files. Since the final project will be a SD-DVD, any HD I shoot will have to be converted to SD. I can do the conversion in Avid,
but I've never been happy with the Avid codec once it converts to SD.

So for the first time I did a dubbing test where I dubbed the 720p footage to DV
in HVX camera, I must say the results look pretty good for SD footage. It seems to retain much of the HD characteristics.

Has anyone else used the in camera dubbing feature in the 200?

Yes,
It's a great , unrecognized feature. It even preserves over/under cranking efx . I think it only works for the 24 or 30pn modes.
