HVx200 or HVX200A ?

where do I find the model # on the camera on the menu to tell which one I have... sorry if this is too easy and i'm just not seeing it!

It's not on the menu, it should be written on the side of the camera.

Lift up the viewfinder and look at the serial number plate, you'll see your model # listed there.

I just bought a hvx200 off eBay, the guy I bought it from said it's an "A" model but the model # under the viewfinder just says: AG-HVX200P however the serial number does start with an A, it is A8TCA0370, is this an 'A' model or the old version?

Sounds like the old/original version to me.

The "A" in the serial number means it was built in January. It does not make it an HVX200A.

Do you have any idea what it's worth used? it has 1098 hours on it and two 16 gig P2 cards and a porta brace cover. I need to sell it.

I'd advise looking through our past marketplace listings, or through the completed auctions on ebay, to get an idea of current market value. There was a ton of great stuff shot on the original HVX200, it's one of the most popular cameras around, so it's by no means a boat anchor. An HVX200A is better, of course, but there was a lot of great work done with the original.

I also just picked up a another 200 it says the model no is HVX200AP does that make it a A i assume so but was not sure i notice the lens hood is little different from my original HVX 200.
