HVX200 or HMC150

I am in the position where I am going to get new cameras . I am torn between the HVX and the HMC150, besides the obvious price difference for cards, for wedding and event capturing, what is the better camera to go with. Any and all comments are welcome.

Does the HMC give as good as image as the HVX? and will the difference between 1080i (HVX) and 1080p (HMC) be noticeable?

Thanks in advance.

My only advice is to first search the forum, read the HMC150 threads....and please stop double posting.

Yeah, there's tons of questions like this on here.

You should probably be looking between an HPX170 (P2) and a HMC150 (AVCCAM), unless you need tape.

Obviously, 1080i and 1080p will look different, even shooting with the same camcorder! Why not ask if there will be a difference in the images, between different cameras when shooting the same formats, rather than different cameras shooting different formats???

Simple, your case... HMC150. Think no more.

1. Main reason... Wedding, Events etc.

2. You don't do heavy CGI, green screen, compositing work in the post.

3. You are not gonna transfer the footage to 35mm for gigantic theater viewing.

4. You probably just burn the final product on DVD so you're gonna compressed the final product to 720 X 480.

5. And... You shoot probably 5 - 10 hours worth of footages, right? P2 Card not gonna hold, unless you buy 100 P2 Cards for $100,000. Get 5 SDHC cards for $200.

Verdict: HMC150!!!

P.S. Better to have fast computer for transferring and transcoding.
