Just came back from a trip to a Post House that does Digital Intermediate Work. Fellow HVX Users, If you plan to show your film in a Theatre, you have nothing, absolutely nothing to fear.
I shot the short film in 1080 25p, and in order to work on their digital cinema format, I needed to convert to HDCAM tape from my Final Cut Pro Edited and Color Corrected Master. Hd-SDi out of an Aja Kona LH Card to the HDCAM deck, and presto-done
It looked sharp, film like, and, well, stunning. I sat near the screen and further away- it looked stunning all the way.
It was all shot without a DOF adapter, so I do not know if a device like that would make it look worse, but, all in all, I was wowed. I can't imagine the audience being annoyed or distracted with the picture quality when seeing a film shot with the HVX!
Any questions you would like to ask about such a scenario, I'm free to answer.
