HVX200 + new imac

Hi,
I'm buying an imac and i'm asking myself if the cheapest model at 1299$ (http://store.apple.com/xf/configure/MB950C/A?mco=MTM3NTYxMTI) is strong enough to read and work with HVX200 shots. Does any of you work with that computer?

oh hell yeah. my old 1.0ghz 17" G4 powerbook works reasonably well with hvx200 footage.

you and your imac will be fine. dvcprohd is a very efficient codec to work with!

the question is, how do you plan to get your footage onto the machine?

ha ha! - no, thats not what i asked. i mean PHYSICALLY how you get the P2 footage onto the computer?
and im guessing you do it by connecting the camera directly to the computer?
