Hello,

Some days ago I was at the Panasonic booth in a local show and I watched some footage recorded in the Pana varicam (60k) and I could test for a few minutes the varicam, what is very nice.
In the HD footage I saw nice examples of 10 fps and 50 fps, I'm curious if the HVX200 will be able to achive same results (blured backgrounds, high speed water, etc)

Thanks,
Ulisses

To some degree, yes it will. The VariCam has fully variable frame rates, the HVX will have "some" variable frame rates. Some reports are indicating that it'll have about a dozen different speeds that it can shoot at. I don't think Panasonic has ever formally confirmed how many speeds there will be, or what specific speeds they'll be, but we do know that it'll have a slowest frame rate of 4 and a fastest rate of 60.

the blurred background (shallow DOF) will be harder or even next to impossible because it's a 1/3 inch lens with a rather limited telephoto...

The blurred background I saw was a car in a road, camera following the car and the background got blurred, like 5 or 10 FPS, the car was very sharp.
I wasn't shallow DOF, but motion blur.
