HVX200 Lens Size

[sonisfear]

Anyone know what the HVX200 Lens size is?

Just wondering is my DVX100 72 mm filters are usefull with this cam.

BTW HVX200 has auto focus right?

If I remember correctly, the thread size is 82mm on the HVX. As for auto focus, I would assume that it does, but the final feature set hasn't been established. Going to Resfest today, I will see what I can learn.

i have a Formatt 4x4 mattebox. all i need to do is get a second adapterring and i am all set with my filters ;-)

what about auto focus?

[alpi69]

yes, but i never use it on my DVX so i won´t need it on the HVX. but it is there

The lens is 82mm in diameter, and it does have manual and auto focus, manual and auto zoom control.

Interesting note: they've changed the focal length, it's now even wider than it was before. The new focal range is 4.2mm-55mm. Still a 13x zoom, but starting with an even wider wide-angle.

how to fit 72mm accessories

how to fit 72mm accessories

is there any way to make my 72mm DVX accessories (mattebox, filter holders..) fit the 82mm HVX lens diameter?

There's a way, sure -- but not a good way.

You can use an 82mm->72mm step-down ring. But that means that you'll likely get vignetting at any focal range other than deep telephoto...
