HVX200 & Kodachrome

Hey there... looking for some advice... is there a combination of filters and/or camera settings to replicate the look of kodachrome film? I'd rather not wait and attempt it 100% in post. I'd like to achieve some of the look within the raw footage and only have to tweak the colors in post.

The setup would be an HVX to P2 with prime 35mm Nikon and Zeiss lenses. All outdoor photography, daylight, summer.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Magic Bullet is the best way to do this. I know you said not in post, but I think it would give you the most consistent results.

I shot a short recently using the "filmic" preset from Barry's HVX book. It looked great. I suppose something akin to a Kodak color stock. I mention this because I recently read an article on the HVX claiming that when you do the adjustments in-camera, they are done in full 4:4:4 color space. What you get in post is, of course, 4:2:2. Supposedly the in-camera adjustments are superior.

Thots?

I don't remember what settings Barry put in his book, but if I were looking to get a Kodachrome look, the first thing I'd do is to bump up the chroma level at least to plus 3. I'd also make sure my subject contains a good amount of reds and oranges.
In post I might out a little more emphasis on those tones.
I think that the HVX does a great job with saturated colors.

It's your call, but remember if what you end up with isn't what you wanted and you have to fix it in post you could well have a mountain to climb . . .

Magic Bullet is, as has been sugested, an option.

NewBlueFX has a nice filter set (comes free in GV Edius 5) . . . one of which IS Kodachrome:

Best.
