HVX200 Guidance

Hey There, I'm New.

I'm Joe, 20, a film studies student in Cornwall, UK.

I'm currently in the market for a HVX200 and I think i'm going to go for an SGpro 35mm lens adapter to accompany it. I've had a fair amount of experience with the SGpro on a Sony VX-2100 and a Canon XH-A1. Graduation is coming up and I think it's time to buy myself a rig.

I've noticed from research, and browsing this forum that the 200A revision is now available. I'm struggling to find many dealers in the UK that stock the 200A yet, and i'm curious if a PAL version is on the market?

These guys here are selling the HVX200 with no mention of the new revision, but they are a local and credible retailer.

However these guys, whom I've never used, are selling the HVX201AE for slightly less, with a bag and shoulder mount thrown in, is this the new revision? Or is there a difference in models?

I don't want to make a bad purchasing decision obviously. I'm just curious if any users (UK users in particular) could offer me some guidance? Is the 200A normally more expensive and WORTH the extra expense?

Regards,

Joe

The 201AE is what you want. The 200A is the USA version, the 201AE is the UK version. 200A is NTSC-only, 201AE is PAL-only.

Thank you very much for clearing that up for me.

Am I right in saying that I must use P2 to record in high-def on the HVX? Is tape NOT an option?
