HVX200/FS100/Time Code

I am a new user of the HVX200 and a FS100. I have been making my way through the manuals of both and have also been trying them out. When I use the Firestore device it records timecode, but the camera's viewfinder does not update at the same time. It remains at 00:00. Is this normal? It would be nice if the timecode updated in the viewfinder also.

I was wondering the same thing. It would be nice to see the timecode moving in the camera while shooting.

It depends on how the HVX is set up. Do you have it sending TC out to the FS, or just not doing anything? It's all in the firewire set up of both.

When I do it, there's no timecode movement on the camera.

On ther firestore, there is movement on Absolute, Counter, and Remaining. On 1080/24P TC (or whatever the record mode is) there's no movement, even on playback.

Hey guys I posted the same thread the other day. I have been using free run TC which works and is viewable on both units. Just read the manual and on pg 59 it states that preset TC works only in tape mode. I am hoping that Barry can solve this problem.

No, it says that the choice of choosing preset (or regen) only happens in tape mode. P2 mode is always, by default and by design, preset.
