Any suggestions on what settings to use on the HVX200 for a reality show.

I'd like to record in digital mode (miniDV) either to the P2 or tape.

Most filming will be indoors, and most of the content will be interviewing people.

Any ideas/suggestions would help. Thank you

Determine how the broadcaster wants the footage delivered and what NLE you have / want to use. Work backwards from there. I work with Howard Adkins (http://www.hidefiningmoments.com/) a bit and the delivery mechanism that the broadcasters still seem to want is Beta Tape...

More important than camera scene settings: you must always control the light. The camera is incapable of correcting poor lighting, lack of lighting, or mixed lighting colors. The camera is the canvas, but the light and subject are your paints.

If you are shooting one location then you should probably outfit the entire location with usable light, all balanced to the same color temp and all with high CRIs. If there are a lot of windows then you should balance to daylight (~5600K).

If you are shooting in multiple locations then you will need a portable light kit. Again, lots of windows means a kit balanced to daylight.

And then there's sound....

I'm good friends with some of the "Flip This House" people on A&E, which uses the HVX, so next time I'm there I'll get the cam settings and report back. Or better yet I'll bring a handy SD card along :)

Thanks all for the suggestion.

This is really for a TV show in India. So i've asked for the broadcasting details so i can render the footage in that settings.
