HVX200 Focal Plane

Hi!

Does anyone know where the focal plane is on the HVX200?

On still cameras there's often a little mark on the body
for doing precise focal distance measurements.

Have a good day.

I'm sure I have seen this discussed here before. I just can't recall when or by whom. Try a quick search and I'm sure it will come up.

Jim, I did a couple of searches before I posted the question.

I also googled to try to find a drawing of the inside of the camera,
in order to located the sensor. No luck.

It's interesting that something so basic is such a mystery.
Is this a Barry Green moment? ;)

Professional video uses the front of the lens as the measurement point, not a marking on the body. Unless it's a special type of lens like a DigiPrime.

Even the EX1, which has a focal mark on the body, doesn't use it -- you still measure from the front of the lens.

Shazaam! You are fast!

Thanks for the quick answer and thanks for writing the Book!

Greetings from a fellow Tarheel,
