Hello everybody,

i am going to film a concert on monday and have a huge problem. I filmed several times with an hvx200 and recorded it on an firestore 100. When i tried to film last time the batterie of the firestore 100 was too low. After loading it up i formated the firestore but since then i can't record anymore on it. I tried to reset the hvx200 but it didn't work. The camera firewire status is ok but when i plug in the firewire cable it changes. So i think there is a problem with the hvx200. I searched this forum and google but got no match on this problem.

Could anybody please tell me what to do with the camera. Recording HD format worked a few times, but since i have formated the firestore hdd it doesn't work anymore. Also viewing recorded tapes via firewire on a computer doesn't work anymore.:embarasse

It is possible that you have a blown firewire port on your HVX. More likely scenarios are bad firewire cable (did you try switching cables) or settings on HVX. Make certain that your HVX is set for 1394 Device. To use the FS-100, make certain that 1394 control is set to external. If you do a reset of the FS-100, then it seems to lose its settings. Make certain your FS-100 is set correctly.. tapeless setting is usually what people miss.

Good luck. I doubt your firewire port is blown on the HVX.

Thank you for your reply. As it is set up correct, as the manuel says, i think it is the firewire port. but again thank you for your help.
